A single Shopify product page can carry a whole gallery of images - main shots, angles, lifestyle photos, size charts. The images only export lists every one of them per product, along with its image_position (the order it’s shown in the gallery, starting at 1) and its alt text where the merchant set one.

That makes it easy to answer questions like "which product has the most photos" or "does this listing have a size chart image" across an entire catalog at once, instead of clicking through pages one at a time.

This works the same for a single product with dozens of images as it does across an entire catalog - the row count simply scales with however many photos each product actually has, with no separate step needed for the occasional listing that carries an unusually large gallery.
